Welcome to the Rothiemurchus
and Glenmore Community Association Website
To the east of Aviemore
lies the road that wends its way through the ancient Caledonian
Pine Forest of Rothiemurchus, past Coylumbridge and on by the
side of Loch Morlich to Glenmore, eventually reaching the start
of the Pass of Ryvoan at Glenmore Lodge, and the Cairngorm Funicular
Railway high on the mountain. This, the most sensitive of areas
at the heart of the newly created Cairngorms National Park, is
the area of the Rothiemurchus and Glenmore Community Association.
In these pages, you will read of the hopes and aspirations of
the community that live in this special place, and of the work
of the volunteers who seek to strike the essential balance between
the needs of the community and the continuing welfare of the
land and wildlife which surrounds them. |
